3 encryption protocol developed by the IETF.
- It ensures the security of
the data transmission through encryption
and authentication.
LLC
Encryption
-In the 2.5G system, the
logical link control (LLC) layer encryption between the MS and the SGSN is the
traditional stream encryption.
- The algorithm is the GEA1
and GEA2 algorithm whereby the data
to be encrypted includes the information field and the authentication field
carried by the LLC frame.
